Failure to Feel

Once again, dawn breaks over an unfamiliar horizon. The giant before me continuously creates friction while a tortured dog barks to banish the silence; the space beside me hosts a chill.

Beyond the glass lies a supporting sea of white where a fiery undercurrent of hate screams through. 32,000 feet above the ground, no one gives it a second thought.

Perhaps when a concept, or even a truth, escapes our shallow understanding and intellect, we choose to ignore it so as not to admit to our collective incapacity to feel.
