I’m usually wearing shorts or zentai suit under my “normal clothes” I don’t think I actually own any real undies anymore lest you consider dance belt underwear. I quit skating a bit over a year ago so my team skinsuits are all pretty well dormant in the closet I have a real problem “playing” in the team uniforms for some reason. Aerial or dancing it’s pretty much the traditional black tights, white or black shirt depending on my mood. The unitards, running tights, shorts, generic skinsuits etc…. are fair game for fun though.
I see a lot of cyclists wearing layers. The couriers all wear lycra shirts and full-length leggings but then they wear cotton T-shirts and board shorts or BMX shorts over the lycra, with their vest with the courier logo and radio gear over that. Unfortunately, most couriers are really grungy and that really takes away from the lycra appeal. A lot of the kids at the BMX Park wear lycra shirts with cotton T-shirts or a nylon mesh jersey. I think a lycra suit with BMX protection gear over it would look awesome while protecting your lycra from the camelback straps.
I wear lycra pretty much all the time. I have an office job and have to wear a suit so I often wear my adidas bodysuit under that, especially in the winter. In the summer though I will often just settle for a speedo or a pair of lycra shorts under my work clothes. I cycle a heck of a lot and whenever I do I wear something lycra, usually a skinsuit. I find it rather funny going to the local shops on my bike and wearing my skinsuit inside, the looks I get is really funny sometimes. Especially if the lady cashier is there, she doesn’t know I’m gay, and I have no intention of spoiling her fantasies.
