Over 5 days in February, 120 children from Northview Primary School took over The Little Arts Academy and transformed every corridor, nook and cranny into part of their Amazing Monster Adventure Race!
The children had to fulfill three tasks at three respective stations that all focused on the theme of a monster story. Each station's task was related to a drama skill (like tableaus) and by successfully completing the task they would each earn one yummy ingredient that would go towards the creation of The Ultimate Monster Sandwich!
With costumes and stories, the kids were running around the LAA campus, earning themselves more and more ingredients until they eventually found Supervitamin Kitchen!
There were some who had to learn about not winning all the time and being a good team-player. There were others who had to learn to not sabotage their friends in order to win. There were tears and laughter but at the end, the Amazing Monster Adventurers learnt that sharing and caring for your team members was the best way to get all tasks done!
The biggest winners in the end were the students as they not only got to eat the beautiful sandwiches they had made, but also received a fortune cookie from the winning group which decided to share their prize with every one else!
Well done adventurers!
